Jazz
Slow and smooth the trumpet plays across the silent room
Cool and contoured notes swaying in their own romance
Tinkling and timed the piano softly sings its passions
Calm and clear the notes embrace to waft together
So sweet their every move and their every pause
Smooth as they sway to their gentler rhythms
Serene as they whisper like young lovers
Small echoes from the wooden walls
Closed eyes and little quiet smiles
Light and lingering melodies
The final note so quavers
So soft the applause
The genteel bow
A little wink
Beautiful
